Fix Holes In Your Walls - Micro Skills Night
Bright United Men's Shed
6:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Do you have a hole in the wall and need to get your bond back? Did you try to put a picture up but used the wrong hook and now tore a new hole in your plaster wall? Have you avoided hanging anything because you were scared to stuff it up and don't know how to repair it? Same. So we’re fixing that. Introducing AMSG Micro Skills Nights. Simple, practical short sessions where we learn those everyday skills most of us were never actually shown growing up. This session is all about fixing holes in plaster walls properly. Not just covering it up with tape and hoping for the best. We’ll show you how to repair it so it actually doesn't look like there was a hole ever there. We'll cover: * what type of hole you’re dealing with (and why that matters) * how to fix small holes, blown-out anchors, and bigger damage * how to apply filler so it goes on smooth (not lumpy and sad) sanding and finishing so it blends in with your wall * tips on how to colour match the paint on your walls Then we get hands on so you can try it yourself — patching, smoothing, and fixing real examples. Bring nothing. We’ll supply everything. No experience needed. Just come along, have a go, and leave feeling way more confident fixing things at home. If you came to our drills session, this is part two: you made the holes… now let’s fix them.

AMSG is proud to host the first Australian screening of M Factor 2 — the powerful follow-up to the groundbreaking documentary exploring menopause, hormonal health and the systemic gaps in women’s healthcare. M Factor 2 continues the national conversation — amplifying real women’s stories, unpacking the science, and challenging the silence that has surrounded perimenopause and menopause for far too long. This is not just a film — it’s a movement for awareness, advocacy and better care. After the screening, we’ll host a live panel discussion with local doctors and health professionals, creating space for open conversation, evidence-based information, and practical guidance for women in our region. Whether you’re in your 30s, 40s, 50s or beyond — or supporting someone who is — this is an evening to be informed, empowered and connected. 💬 Real stories 🧠 Expert insights 🤝 Community conversation Tickets essential. Refreshments and good vibes provided.  Let’s lead the conversation — right here in Bright.

RED-S & Recovery: Supporting Health, Performance and Longevity
Bright Motor Inn
6:00 PM – 7:15 PM
Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S) is far more common than many people realise, and it doesn’t just affect elite athletes. It can show up subtly as low energy and stalled performance in recreational runners, strength trainers, busy parents, peri- and post-menopausal women, and anyone juggling training, work, stress, and recovery.  This session is about understanding RED-S early, recognising the subtle warning signs, and learning how to protect your health, strength, and long-term performance.  We’ll start with why this topic matters; drawing on real-world experience working with active people who love movement, sport, and pushing their limits, often without realising the cost their bodies are paying.  From there, we’ll unpack:  What RED-S actually is, how it links to low energy availability (LEA) and how it differs from simply “not eating enough”  The link between RED-S and musculoskeletal injury, fatigue, stalled progress, and repeated niggles  Peri- and menopause as amplifiers, where hormonal changes, stress, and training load can increase vulnerability  Resistance training as a protective tool, supporting bone health, muscle, and resilience across the lifespan  Fuelling strategies: practical, sensible principles that support training and recovery without food rules or restriction  We’ll finish with clear red flags to watch for, trusted resources, and local referral pathways if further support is needed.  This is an educational, empowering session designed to fuel better, recover faster, and stay strong for the long haul.  Suitable for: active adults, recreational and competitive athletes, coaches, and anyone interested in sustainable health and performance.  Refreshments provided. Proudly supported by Community Bank Bright.
